Online programs receive national rankings from US News and World Report

More than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students are currently enrolled in WCU online degree programs. The university has been consistently ranked among the highest in the nation by U.S. News and World Report, now in the ninth year of collecting data from distance education providers.

Campus community prepares for a week of MLK Jr. events

Oralene Anderson Graves Simmons is the keynote speaker for Western Carolina University’s Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. Simmons will give her presentation Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. in the John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center. The theme is “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Legacy of Connection: The Story of U.S.”

Search committee for WCU athletics director receives charge, looks to make decision by March

A 15-member committee looks to select no more than six candidates for off-campus interviews in mid-February before selecting one or two finalists to bring to campus later that month.

Search committee for WCU vice chancellor position sets meetings with consultant

The campus committee leading the national search for Western Carolina University’s next vice chancellor for advancement is working with Aspen Leadership Group as the process moves forward and has scheduled a series of meetings designed to provide input to committee members and ALG.
