Dustin Whitehead is an actor, filmmaker, and teacher from Chicago, Illinois. He can be seen in numerous independent films as well as the nationally televised NBC shows “Chicago PD” and “Chicago Fire.” His theatre acting credits include Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago Dramatists, American Theatre Company, Redtwist, The Inconvenience, Lakeside Shakespeare, Congo Square, and Mortar Theatre Company.
Whitehead received his B.F.A. in Performance from Jacksonville University and his M.F.A. in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University. He also studied filmmaking in Singapore at NYU Tisch Asia.
For three years prior to coming to WCU, Whitehead was producing and directing documentaries about cutting edge research for the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He has production experience in narrative work, documentary films, industrials and music videos. His most recent short film, “Somewhere in the Midwest,” screened at the Kansas City Film Festival, the Central Florida Film Festival, the New York City Independent Film Festival and the Charleston International Film Festival.
