Spring 2017 Cultural Immersion Excursion

Memphis is a city on the Mississippi River in southwest Tennessee, famous for the influential strains of blues and rock 'n' roll that originated there.

This 3 day/2 night Cultural Immersion Excursion is designed to expose students to persons or groups that are markedly different in culture from that of themselves and create awareness for the world around them.  Students will have the opportunity to visit the National Civil Rights Museum. Through multi-sensory and multi-media innovations, historical artifacts and structures the National Civil Rights Museum offers visitors a full immersion experience. Students will also have the opportunity to discover would famous Beale Street which is a significant location in the city's history as well as in the history of blues and rock 'n' roll. While on Beale Street students will enjoy Southern cuisine at the original B.B. King's Blues Club.

Hotel accommodations in downtown Memphis, transportation, and some meals included. Limited to the first 45 students to register.  The total cost to students is $100. Payment is due by February 10, 2017 and is non-refundable.
