Western Carolina University’s Office of Professional Growth and Enrichment is offering hybrid courses towards the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA) Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) credential. Each course starts with an on-site workshop following 4 weeks of online curriculum.
January 15, 2018 / WCU at Biltmore Park, Asheville
In this workshop, participants will learn about the history, scope, and impact of nonprofits and how developing and supporting a clear mission is critical to the success of the organization.
April 20, 2018 / WCU at Biltmore Park, Asheville
This workshop will provide an overview of a typical 501c3’s financial essentials, so participants can feel more confident understanding and communicating financial data. The focus will be on providing information that is relevant for board members, managers, and executive directors in their respective roles. Participants will learn a range of nonprofit tax compliance issues including the use of financial statements and understanding the Form 990.
March 6 to 9, 2018 / WCU at Biltmore Park, Asheville
In this three and a half day certificate program, participants will attend a one and a half-day grant writing workshop with instructor Jack Smith. Jack will review the many different categories of grants, and teach time-saving techniques and shortcuts in the grant writing process.
