Merit-Based and Need-Based Foundation Scholarships
WCU offers numerous scholarships that have been established by alumni and other friends of the university. Some of these scholarships are based on financial need and others are based on merit. The general scholarship application is required for consideration for these scholarships. Students also must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1 each year in order to be considered for need-based scholarships.
Scholarships are available to new freshmen and transfer students based on academic achievement. Consideration is based on academic records submitted during the admission process. For detailed information on these opportunities, new freshmen should contact the Honors College and transfer students should contact the Admission Office.
Especially for Graduate Students
There are several programs available through the Graduate School to assist with funding your graduate education.
A number of our university departments have scholarships available to students, including
academic departments and Athletics. These scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding talent, performance,
or excellence within their major coursework. Students should
contact the department directly to learn more about application procedures, auditions, or athletic recruitment opportunities.
