Intercambios Linguisticos y Culturales (ILYC) Granada in cooperation with the University of Granada offers language and culture programs aimed to students of Spanish language of all over the world.
Semester at the University of Granada Academic Program
The semester program consists of two main courses: the Intensive Spanish Language Course which is focused on revising the Spanish grammar basics and the Spanish Language and Culture Course. Credits obtained at the University of Granada are valid for all universities.
Intensive Spanish Language Course Duration: 80 hours
The Intensive Spanish Language Course (CILE) is mainly aimed to those who will later attend the Spanish Language and Culture Course. Hence the student will revise or start his knowledge of Spanish grammar and then will be better prepared to face up to the more specific subjects of the Language and Culture Course.
The schedule for the Intensive Spanish Language Courses follows the syllabuses for the contents of all four levels offered by the University of Granada: Initial, Intermediate, Advanced and Higher level. Each of them is divided into two stages (A and B). The course will be run in 4 class hours per day.
The students of these courses, once they pass the collocation test, will therefore
be grouped together according to the eight basic schedules, though new groups may
be formed according to the their number and the student's skills. Normally the groups
shall not exceed 15 students and they even be formed with less students.
Spanish Language and Culture Course Duration: 4 months
It is aimed to college or university students and professionals who are interested in furthering their studies in Spanish Language whilst studying some aspects of Spanish history and culture at the same time.
Students who want to enroll on this course should have reached an intermediate level in Spanish. This level of Spanish knowledge is accredited by passing the collocation test. Those students who have not passed the collocation test to attend this course, might take a new Intensive Course.
The subjects envisaged in this course take 40 hours each, and they shall be taught following a regular weekly schedule.
The University of Granada in accordance with the University or College concerned shall issue course certificates as well as the validation of these subjects for credit purposes. It is essential that the student has attended at least an 80% of the classes.
