Honors students’ stellar academic performance affords them the benefit of curriculum flexibility. Honors students have the option of modifying the required Liberal Studies Program through course substitutions. This includes taking higher-level courses instead of the lower-level Liberal Studies courses. For example, an Honors student might elect to take English 308 ("Fiction Writing") in place of English 101 ("First-Year Composition"). Earning a grade of B- or better in the higher-level course translates to Honors credit for the class.
