Biography:

Dr. Macaulay received his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. His research interests include the modern South, modern American history, and concepts of masculinity.  He is the author of Marching in Step: Masculinity, Citizenship, and The Citadel in Post World War II America (2009) and articles in South Carolina Historical Magazine, Southern Cultures, and the Journal of East Tennessee History.
