Biology Curriculum

Studying biology at Western Carolina University includes a program of discovery that embraces plant ecology and ecological genetics and also explores how plants develop … and that’s just the beginning! If you enjoy the field of biology, our core curriculum is designed for you, whether you’re pursuing an undergraduate or graduate program.

Guided by an international community of faculty members who are dedicated to research, you and your fellow students are encouraged to pursue studies and take advantage of extraordinary facilities that stretch beyond the campus to include the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the nearby Coweeta Hydrological Laboratory, to name but a few.
