Working closely with faculty, you will learn the technical skills and fundamentals of engineering and the professional conduct you will need for success in your career.
With faculty and experienced mentors, you will be involved in project-based learning. This enhanced approach requires hands-on work with real projects for real clients. It reinforces what you are learning in your classes and labs and to gives you practical experience that can help you get started in your career after graduation.
The Rapid Center
Your studies are brought to life through your work on projects at the Center for Rapid Product Realization, an EDA-designated university center. The Rapid Center offers the capabilities of a product-development center for inventors and entrepreneurs, start-up and established companies. Many of them serve as project sponsors and mentors for the Senior Capstone Project. With the guidance of the Rapid Center's faculty and staff, students learn to integrate facts from classes and labs with good engineering habits and gain experience in solving real problems.
Equipment and Facilities
The Kimmel School's classrooms and labs are located in the Belk Building and Center for Applied Technology. They are fully equipped with professional software and hardware that meets or exceeds industry standards, and provides an excellent environment for teaching and project-based learning.
