About the Physical Therapy Department

The physical therapy profession tends to draw individuals who are intellectually curious, energetic, and compassionate. Their respect for the human body encourages healthy, active lifestyles. Their interest in helping others spills over to friendships among their classmates that last a lifetime.

The department awarded its last Master of Physical Therapy (M.P.T.) degree in August of 2012.  In the Fall of 2011 the first class entered a full-time  33-month Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T) degree program. Students willing to work hard will earn a degree from a well-respected program in a relatively short time span.

Graduates of the program consistently exceed state and national pass rates on the physical therapy licensing examination. As licensed physical therapists in a very favorable job market, graduates have the option of continuing their education or becoming clinical specialists.
