Special Information for Transfer Students

For your convenience, the School of Nursing has compiled a list of the equivalent courses available at North Carolina Community Colleges. Please note that not all community colleges offer every course.

Western Carolina University B.S.N. Program

The right-hand column identifies North Carolina Community College courses on the semester system (since 1997) that transfer to WCU to meet each requirement.

Group 2.  Liberal Studies. Take these before or with NSG-prefix courses. If you have a North Carolina Community College Associate of Arts degree OR have COMPLETED the General Education Core at a NCCC OR have a previous bachelor’s degree, these are waived. Any other circumstances mean that your credits will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis and MAY NOT meet a Liberal Studies requirement.

This course may not be taken at a community college, but is waived if the student has the AA or the 44-hour General Education Core from a NCCC.
