Mary Beth DeConinck Biography
Areas of Interest
While various areas of marketing (sales, advertising, consumer behavior, etc.) are of primary interest, I also gravitate towards some of the other functional areas (finance and human resources) given my professional and academic experience over the years.
Professional and Academic Experience
I have three years of professional experience in the banking industry (Arkansas and Georgia). I also have 20 years of academic experience (teaching and administrative) at various schools (Western Illinois University, Central Missouri State University, Wright State University, University of Dayton, and Western Carolina University). I am currently involved with Camp Ability (a summer camp for special needs children and adults) in soliciting funding, maintaining public relations, etc.
My research and publications have focused on pay satisfaction among retailers, consumer buying habits, and the impact digital networks and social media have on business sharing.
Areas of Instruction
My teaching experience at the undergraduate level includes Introduction to Business, Small Group Communication Sales Skills, Marketing Planning and Strategy, Integrated Marketing Communication, Advertising, Professional Selling, Sales Management, and Negotiation.
I received my BSBA and MBA from the University of Central Missouri (formerly known as Central Missouri State University) in Warrensburg, MO.
