Chris Whisenhunt

“I transferred from another university to WCU because of the small class sizes and accessibility of the professors. They know who you are; you can call them, stop by their offices, sit down with them and get feedback. That really helps.”

Chris Whisenhunt, Computer Information Systems Major

Computer Information Systems Curriculum

The Computer Information Systems Program offers a major and minor, both composed of classes that are geared to prepare you to solve business problems with information technology solutions.

You’ll learn in hands-on environments, using state-of-the-art software and technology, and you also can take advantage of cooperative education courses that allow you to work in actual industry positions, earning credit, salary, and vital real-world experience.

With a major in computer information systems you will be qualified to join the rapidly expanding information-age economy. Companies and organizations, both private and public, throughout North Carolina and the nation are looking for women and men with the skills you can learn while earning a B.S.B.A. in Computer Information Systems.

For those who have chosen a major outside the College of Business, a minor in computer information systems will make you stand out from the rest of the pack—you’ll have knowledge from your major and knowledge about how businesses use networks and information systems to achieve competitive advantage. That extra knowledge gives you a competitive advantage and makes you more employable.
