Glen Helton is senior vice president of Global Operations for Burger King Corporation (BKC). In this role, he is responsible for all operations and strategic efforts worldwide. He reports directly to chief executive officer, Bernardo Hees. Prior to this role he was responsible for all operations and strategic re-imaging efforts of U.S. and Canadian company-owned restaurants. Glen was instrumental in the re-franchise efforts of over 1200 company owned locations in a 12 month period.
Helton is the former president and chief operating officer for Strategic Restaurants Acquisitions Corp. (SRAC), the second largest franchise group with Burger King Corp. In that position, he was responsible for the day-to-day operations for 281 BURGER KING® restaurants throughout California, Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Kansas. Helton also served as a director on the board for SRAC Holdings Inc. and was managing director for the company.
Prior to joining SRAC, Helton served as vice president of operations for Popeyes Chicken & Biscuits, overseeing more than 1,900 restaurants worldwide. During his 17 years at Popeye’s, he was responsible for the company’s technology and operating system initiatives and had direct P&L responsibility for all company-operated restaurants. Helton also served as a managing partner for Boston Market during its peak growth period and helped open and operate 56 locations.
Helton began his career with Burger King Corp. as a team member. He later became a
restaurant general manager and district manager with a franchise group in Houston,
Glen presently serves Burger King and the restaurant industry in various other capacities, serving as a director on the board for the BK James McLamore foundation, as well as a member of the advisory councils for Restaurant Leadership and the Multi-Unit Franchisee Conference.
