What Is Online Learning?
Online learning is a form of e-learning. It involves the use of computers, computer software, instructional media, electronic mail, and Internet or intranet technologies to facilitate teaching and learning.
How Online Learning Works
Online human resources (MSHR) courses may be accessed by logging into BlackBoard. If you are enrolled in a class, you will see it listed in "Blackboard Courses." Click on the class title and you will have access to all of the course materials. Access to Blackbard courses is usually granted on the first day of classes.
Typical online instructional activities (i.e., live and recorded lectures, group discussions, reading assignments, class projects, presentations, turning in assignments, exchange of e-mails, taking of tests, accessing grades) take place online inside the Blackboard electronic learning environment.
All online students must have an up-to-date computer with multimedia capabilities and a fast Internet connection (DSL or Cable). Students should also be able to perform common computer functions (e.g., browse the Web, zip and unzip files) and use Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
