While in her 5th semester in our MSHR program, Jennifer Gappens was offered an HR Advisor role with a major U.S. leader in the global sports media business. "I am now working with seasoned HR professionals and gaining tremendous insight on strategic HR initiatives. I am very grateful for this internship with a great company!”, Gappens says.
She plans on graduating with her MSHR degree in December 2015.

Angela Wagner, PHR, is currently the Human Resources Director at AllCare Clinical Associates in Asheville, NC. She graduated the MSHR program in December 2012.
In Spring 2015, the College of Education and Allied Professions awarded program alumnus Alex Hall the "Peak Performer" award in recognition of his continued engagement with the HR program, including the pro bono consulting work he facilitated throughout his enrollment at WCU.
"The MSHR program has provided me with the tools and knowledge needed to advance my credibility in my own company and understand technically and strategically the field of human resources.
Effective September 29th, Alex Hall accepted the role of Program Manager on the Selection & Assessment team. Alex will provide program and project management support for capability assessments, behavioral Interviewing and capability frameworks. Prior to joining Talent Management Practice, Alex completed the HR Development Program with rotations in the HR Support Center, Corporate Learning & Development and Liberty International. In his previous rotations, Alex was responsible for deploying a tuition reimbursement system, implementation of an Insurance Fundamentals curriculum, lean virtual huddle boards and talent tools and analysis for Liberty International. Alex received his BSBA from Appalachian State University and a Master of Science in HR from Western Carolina University. "
