Training

Information Technology offers a variety of training for WCU faculty, staff, and students through several delivery methods.

Our core technology trainings include the Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and Blackboard- the university's learning management system.  We also offer trainings on how to use WCU electronic classrooms and demonstration classrooms. Limited trainings may also be available for the Adobe Creative Suite, and other various software and technology.

Our core delivery methods are defined below:

Walk-ins/Appointments (including distance) –

The Coulter Faculty Commons offers support for faculty and staff during regular office hours. The Technology Commons provides support for students during Library hours. In addition all faculty, staff, and students can request remote/distance session training appointments.

Workshops –

IT, the Coulter Faculty Commons, and the Technology Commons staff offer various workshops by request or open invitation. Residence hall presentations are student focused workshops requested by Residential Living Staff, and are offered in residence halls to enhance student technology skills and knowledge.

In-Class Visits –

Technology Commons' staff are available to attend courses upon request to train students on a variety of software. Our core software list is above, but other software trainings can be discussed.

Online Training –

Microsoft eLearning - Online training for Microsoft Office Suite can be accessed 24/7The Coulter Faculty Commons Sandbox - sandbox.wcu.edu houses trainings geared toward faculty.

The Technology Commons YouTube Channel - http://www.youtube.com/wcutechnologycommons houses various basic trainings

Human Resources Traininghttp://wcuhub.wcu.edu houses WCU HR training information and materials           

Requirements/limitations

Trainings are presented on WCU's Cullowhee campus unless otherwise indicated or scheduled.
