Why do I need an academic advisor?
Academic advisors help students with liberal studies questions and with declaration of major processes. It is important that students develop a working relationship with advisors to keep them on target for graduation.
When do I declare my major?
As you go through the CatWalk, you will be given the opportunity to declare. If you choose to declare, your advisor will register you for the appropriate major courses.
If I change my mind, how can I change my major?
You can contact your advisor or the Advising Center (firstname.lastname@example.org) anytime you wish to change your major.
When will I receive my schedule?
1) Made your tuition deposit
2) Completed CatWalk
3) Submitted proof of immunization
4) Registered for an orientation session.
If you have questions, contact the Advising Center staff by email at email@example.com or call us at 828-227-7753.
How many classes should I take my first semester?
A typical course load is 15-17 credit hours, which is 5 or 6 courses.
I attended Early College. How will my advisor know which courses I have completed?
You should have your college transcript sent to our Admissions Office as soon as possible. You should request the transcript from the community college you attended as a part of your Early College program. Be sure to indicate in CatWalk that you attended Early College.
If I have questions about Financial Aid, can I contact the Advising Center for help?
