The contest focus and theme is "Connect the Dots!"
First-Year Students how do you connect the dots to integrate information from a variety of contexts and then express yourself creatively?
Entries may include Video, Photography, Musical Compositions, Documented Performance, Original Art Work, Creative Writing (such as Essays, Poetry)
Contest opens August 19, 2013 and closes March 7, 2014
Individual and small group submissions are welcome
Class submissions are also welcome from students enrolled in First Year Courses (such as transition courses, First-Year Seminars, or others)
Videos and Performances should not exceed 2 minutes. Please keep in mind that more content is not necessarily better, therefore, 1-2 minute videos are encouraged.

By submitting an entry, applicants grant to WCU a royalty free, perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, assignable, transferable right to use, reproduce, prepare derivative works or adapt entries, in full or in part, for any reason deemed relevant by the university.
By submitting a video, applicants acknowledge that they are the sole owner of all
content and have not infringed upon any valid copyright or other right – this includes

Also – this is a wonderful challenge to be truly original – create your own music, invite your FY artist friends to participate!
