Agency Description:   The Asheville Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to enhancing quality of life by providing diverse cultural & recreational experience.

Training:   Depends on activity; most volunteers require little or no training.

Time Commitment:   Varies.

Skills, Experience, and Special Requirements:   There is some need for students familiar with design software & as-built drawings. Other volunteers do not need special skills.

Volunteer Involvement:   People of all ages can be involved in festivals and other special events (such as Bele Chere and seasonal programs), after school programs and local community centers. Volunteers are also needed for programs designed for children and senior citizens including the Cultural Renaissance Art Program.
