Come join us at the Mountain Heritage Center -- celebrate the natural and cultural heritage of the southern Appalachian region. Through our exhibitions, publications, educational programs, and demonstrations, you'll discover the rich traditions of the mountains, see the Appalachian region from new perspectives, and come away with an enhanced understanding of its land, culture, and people.

The Mountain Heritage Center at WCU is a regional resource for education and research: 

We CONNECT people with local history and culture.
We BUILD bridges between the University and wider community.
We SERVE as a resource for regional cultural heritage organizations.

 

Hours of Operation

Galleries: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Thursdays, 9:00 am - 7:00 pm, February 1 - December 7

Offices: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
