WCU’s Mountain Heritage Center is on the move! The Center’s exhibit galleries in the HFR Building closed on April 13, 2015. The MHC moved its offices and exhibits to Hunter Library in late May, where we are continuing to serve WCU and the community.
Our offices have reopened M-F, 8 am – 5 pm, and a new exhibit gallery will open August 17, 2015. Our collections will remain in the HFR Building, where our artifact preservation and research work will continue. Ultimately, the MHC will be the centerpiece of a new WCU Visitors Center.
In the meantime, please enjoy a traveling exhibit on Lewis Hine photography we are hosting and the many exhibits produced by the MHC in venues across western North Carolina. Throughout the move, our phone number will remain the same (828-227-7129) and you can find the latest information about the move, upcoming programs, and complete contact information on the WCU website and Facebook.
